hmms.. i'm supposed to talk about social issues, so i shall talk about gambling then.



from my point of view, gambling is really kind of a " irritating thing " going on. yupps. because i live in a family with a dad who gambles and most of the people around me do gamble. eg. classmates (NOT SURPRISED THEY EVEN KNOW WHAT IS TAITEE in a generation where PSP is so popular among them!)

There are actually the good and bad sides of gambling, but its not like as if GAMBLING IS STILL GOOD! correct?

Sometimes, in certain points of life, we have to take a gamble in things like e.g. will it rain today? so you start thinking okays! maybe it won't rain! and when your prediction is wrong? too bad lahs! TAKE CAB or either GET DRENCHED!

the bad side is hmms.. like my dad? hahas.. :X (THIS IS ACTUALLY NOT MEANT TO BE KNOWN TO LOTS OF PEOPLE!)
he loves horse racing, soccer bettings.etc.. SOUND LIKE YOUR TYPICAL SINGAPOREAN RIGHT?


yea.. just lack the 4Ds and TOTOs. His gambling really affects not only himself but it also affects US - his family members and yea..i got no idea whether his friends are affected. BUT I AM AFFECTED!
When someone in your family gambles, he loses alot of money, he makes the family feels pressurised and DEFINITELY! i do feel like stretching out my hands and strangle him at times!



Sometimes i feel that its kind of stupid to gamble! NO OFFENCE! but really, it is stupid and like reckless driving, its an INCONSIDERATE ACT! some people even gamble, lose money, borrow from loansharks and are driven to a corner. And when theyare being pushed to a corner, its like as if there is no way out, and they choose to jump off buildings.

yea... so MY FINAL CONCLUSION IS don't gamble. okays.. maybe gamble when it is necessary. :D
seriously if anybody in your family does gamble, maybe you can heed the advice given by Li Nanxing on the television and go call 1800-x-gamble? maybe that will work?
